Dan Murphy started the trade around fifty years ago with JF Harris & Son in London making reproduction furniture. In the 1970s he moved to Sudbury, Suffolk working for Harris fine furniture and in 1991 he was joined by his son Danny and traded as D P Murphy Veneers in Coggleshall, Essex. The firm worked on hotel contracts and private work and relocated to Sudbury in 1997.Today Danny and Matthew Murphy run the family business trading as Amura Interiors. As a result of their years of hands on experience, they now enjoy a reputation for designing and manufacturing both traditional and contemporary pieces and taking on private commissions for bespoke pieces.
